Cardiac Amyloidosis and Infiltrative Cardiomyopathies

This HWC 2026 session will discuss the increasing awareness of cardiac amyloidosis and other infiltrative cardiomyopathies as key causes of heart failure, especially in older age. Discussion topics cover advances in non-invasive diagnosis with imaging and biomarkers, the applications of bone scintigraphy and cardiac MRI, and emerging treatments like TTR stabilizers and gene-silencing strategies. The session also emphasizes diagnostic issues, selection of patients for therapy, and long-term management strategies to enhance outcomes in this previously underdiagnosed group.
